Umbria Aerospace
Cluster
The central Italian region of Umbria boasts over 100 years’ industrial excellence in aviation.
Established in 2008, Umbria Aerospace Cluster (UAC) represents the aviation, space and defence industries in the central Italian region of Umbria.
UAC facilitates growth and collaboration amongst its members by promoting integrated business opportunities, internationalization, on-going training, innovation and development processes.
Today, UAC is comprised of 50 member companies, 1 university, 4 professional academies, 1 airport.
With a combined turnover of € 1Bln, approx. 50% is from the Italian domestic market, 30% from EU markets and the remaining 20% extra EU. With more than 5,000 employees, over 10% are dedicated to continuous R&D, which in turn absorbs over 10% of average UAC annual turnover.
Cooperation and strategic integration are the key drivers upon which the Cluster and its stakeholders — national and local governments and agencies, research and professional training centers, etc. — are working on in order to further develop a sustainable aerospace ecosystem in Umbria.
