Meccanotecnica Umbra provides the design, production and distribution of mechanical seals. Technological innovation and advances, investments in R&D and state-of-the-art production plants have allowed Meccanotecnica Umbra to establish itself as a world leader in the mechanical seals sector globally.

Meccanotecnica Umbra was founded in 1966 in Campello sul Clitunno in the province of Perugia. Today the company has become a world leader in the design and production of sealing systems for rotating shafts / equipment; Such systems are typically found in applications such as Automotive, Household appliances sectors and in various industrial fields such as Chemical, Mining, Food and Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Aerospace and Renewable energies sectors. The consolidated turnover for the group in 2022 was 80 million euros with about 750 employees located at different branches worldwide.

Key values for our investments:

• Innovation – Approximately 4% of the turnover is allocated every year to R&D, for both product and process. The ceramic materials (the heart of the mechanical seals) are designed and produced in Umbria with a high rate of innovation assures the best level of performance. Furthermore, important investments have been made in the digitization / automation of various processes.
• Globalization –The Group owns and operates production plants in China, India, Brazil, Mexico-USA, Canada, Sweden, Turkey and Germany. Our local presence has made it possible to better assist the communities we interact with and meet customer needs.
• Employees training – Our employees are our most important asset. Therefore, we created the MTU Academy to keep providing the proper training and education to our employees.
• Sustainability – In supporting our corporate vision, building and reinforcing our loyalty to our employees, customers and stakeholders, Meccanotecnica Umbra has recently become SA8000 certified.
